On April 11th, 2019, the night before the conference, we kept to our tradition and hosted an intimate speaker dinner with our closest friends, partners, and FTF team at 10 Corso Como. Curated by Questlove, guests were treated to some incredible food by American-Nigerian Chef and James Beard Winner, Kwame Onwuachi On April 12th, 2019, guests arrived at Pier59 Studios in New York City for Fashion Tech Forum 2019. Naturally, our CEO and leader Karen Harvey started off the conference introducing the key themes and pillars of the day. Karen shared her insights on what the year ahead in fashion would bring and inspired us all: “Technology is rapidly changing the world and the numerous innovations and social platforms created by this sector have enabled each and every one of us, our speakers and our moderators today, to prove my fundamental belief; that we do not have to wait for someone else to fix the problems we see today. But actually that each and every one of us can rise to the occasion and do our part to build something and make a difference.” Vedic Meditation Teacher for more than 20 years, Author of Bliss More (and former Gap model), Light Watkins, led us in a group meditation: "Everybody has the same thing in common, no matter who they are no matter what walk of life they come from, everybody has the desire to tap into their inner source of calmness and peace and happiness. We all share that desire in that room as well." One of the most memorable moments of the day was the conversation between Josh Luber, Co-Founder, and CEO of StockX and Marc Dolce, VP and Creative Director of Adidas Advanced Concepts. Moderated by Jeff Carvalho of Highsnobiety, the conversation titled The Ecosystem of Hype and Value, marked "one of the first times where a representative from one of the largest global sportswear brands was on stage with a man who has essentially built a marketplace around selling that product."

In between panels, guests explored our White Space Gallery: a curation of cutting edge companies, from compelling and relevant startups to global industry Stewarts, who showcase their latest innovations. Companies that showcased at FTF 2019 include Heuritech, Linc Global, Makersights, Hozen, Tulerie, Trendalytics, ēdn and many more. One of the most anticipated panels of the day was "Harnessing the Power of Beauty for Good" with Detroit Blows Founders Sophia Bush and Nia Batts, moderated by CNN Newsroom Anchor Poppy Harlow. "We knew that we wanted to build what we wanted to see and we did it in a really specific way. We knew we wanted to be fully non-toxic, we knew that we wanted to reinvest a dollar from every blowout, a portion of our retail profits through our philanthropic arm Detroit Grows" Nia Batts said to the audience. FTF 2019-780 Fashion Tech Forum 2019 ended with a celebration and cocktail hour in our White Space Gallery. We look forward to seeing you all again at the next Fashion Tech Forum!
